Torrent sites come and go. They come with the promise of substantial revenue and go with the threat or actuality of legal action. Publichd.se is/was a fairly recent arrival, and achieved remarkable success. Now it has suddenly disappeared without a trace or explanation. It arrived towards the end of 2012 and grew first rapidly and then steadily. According to w3snoop.com,
The website publichd.se is expected to be earning an estimated $3,652 USD on a daily basis. If publichd.se was to be sold it would possibly be worth $1,333,107 USD (based on the daily revenue potential of the website over a 12 month period)… publichd.se possibly receives an estimated 760,900 unique visitors every day – an insane amount of traffic!
Google also seems to have been receiving an insane amount of DMCA takedown notices:
The likelihood is, then, that publichd.se is faced with legal action that it feels unable to withstand. So it has gone. The site has disappeared, and its Facebook and Twitter accounts have vanished. This is what it was like yesterday. And this is today.
Strike one for the copyright holders (probably).Submitted in: News, News_legal |
